Reviews and Resources

Here is where I will leave some information about where we stayed, what we did, etc. in recognition of those who helped us out along the way or provided a home away from home! If you have any questions or are wondering about something I haven’t mentioned, do not hesitate to ask 🙂 Please remember that this page is a work in progress and will be constantly updated with new information!

Tours and Guides:

  • River Tracing in Taiwan with Hualien Outdoours
    • Guide: Matt
    • Notes: Matt was an integral part of this experience – he helped make it so memorable and helped me fall in love not only with the sport, but the country as well. He was so thoughtful and friendly and knowledgeable. He told us how to make tea out of the leaves of local plants, entertained us with local lore, captivated us with the history and his knowledge of the geography, and provided us with a delicious lunch and unforgettable memories. Anyone going to Taiwan needs to stop in Hualien and visit Taroko Gorge under the expert care and guidance of this wonderful man.
  • Touring Beijing, China
    • Guide: Vivie Pan
    • Notes: Vivie was patient, friendly, extremely helpful and very informative! Without her, our time in Beijing would have been very different. She had her own car to transport us, showed us the local side of things as well as the tourist bits, got us discount tickets to a variety of shows, and made wonderful recommendations for our time without her, including another driver for the day to the Great Wall and a wonderful Peking Duck restaurant!
  • Margaret River winery tour with Bushtucker Tours
    • Notes: Our guide for the full-day winery tour was absolutely fantastic! He was funny and knowledgeable and did his best to answer all our questions. We were taken to 4 different wineries and given a wide variety of tastings at each. A gourmet lunch of local meats, cheeses, and local bread and produce was included. We were also taken to a brewery, a chocolate company, and a cheese factory! It definitely exceeded our expectations!

Tools, Apps, and Gadgets:

  • Blurb
    • Notes: Blurb is a book making tool that I have fallen in love with! I use it to create physical records of my travels and memories. It is a super easy to use program and books can be edited offline from your computer. The book is copyrighted to you as the maker and you have the option of selling it directly through Blurb or on your own website if you so desire
